DODO 2024: Half a million more deliveries with fewer cars and more profit

2024 was our company’s eighth consecutive year of at least double-digit growth. Last year’s turnover increased by 13% compared to 2023, reaching 67,6 mil EUR. Our gross profit and EBITDA growth were even greater. This is all thanks to investments in our own technology platform and operational improvements. What else did the numbers reveal?

Growth with no limits: stronger in Germany and Hungary
Last year, we delivered nearly 6.5 million orders for our clients in six different countries, which is about 500,000 more than in the previous year. We grew successfully in Germany, which has become our second strongest market, and we also made significant progress in Hungary, where we started delivering for one of the largest retail chains – Auchan.

Higher profits through operational optimization
However, more shipments did not mean more cars. On the contrary, by utilizing our delivery capacity more efficiently, we reduced the number of cars and couriers compared to 2023.
“In 2024, we have yet again managed to grow faster than the market, but more importantly, we have significantly advanced our overall operational efficiency. We have increased our operating margin and gross profit, and we are also significantly growing at the EBITDA metric levels. Compared to 2023, we have shipped nearly half a million more orders with fewer trucks and couriers, reflecting our commitment to consistently increasing our productivity. We are preparing the company for further growth, focusing on efficient use of investments to ensure that their volume always corresponds to the current growth rate,” says Jana Dostálová, CFO of DODO Group.
According to preliminary results, we managed to increase gross profit by 36% and EBITDA by 66% year-on-year. We owe this success to all our colleagues, couriers, and clients. We greatly appreciate their work and trust and thank them for it. However, we will undoubtedly continue to strive for excellence!

Plans for 2025: expansion of slot delivery
We do not intend to slow down this year. Our objective is, of course, to maintain the quality of last mile logistics for our current clients, such as Tesco, Košík, Rewe, and Samsung. However, we have aimed for another area: slot delivery. We already provide this service for several e-shops in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and we see giant potential in expanding it.
“Customers have long shown that they want to be in control of their time and receive their order when it is convenient for them. This need for flexibility is the reason why delivery boxes have grown so much in popularity. However, we believe that alongside these, home delivery is undoubtedly the future of e-commerce; it just needs to be different from the current norm. Thanks to DODO, e-shops can now easily and quickly offer customers the possibility to choose in advance what day and time they want their parcel delivered,” says Michal Menšík, CEO of DODO Group.

How are we going to succeed in streamlining last mile logistics and expanding slot delivery? You can keep track of that here, on our social media, and of course, we’ll come back next year with a full summary.
