DODO launches grocery delivery for Globus. Online shopping with delivery at a precise time

Globus is launching its own online grocery and hypermarket goods sales. The technological‑logistics company DODO becomes the strategic partner responsible for delivering orders to customers within a pre‑selected time window. The delivery service was launched on 27 January 2025 in Prague, with further regions to follow gradually. The cooperation builds on DODO’s long‑term focus on the most demanding last‑mile logistics segments, particularly grocery and chilled delivery.

Globus online sales with a focus on freshness and own production
Globus customers can now choose from more than 30,000 items on the Globusonline.cz e‑shop. A significant share of orders is expected to consist of products from Globus’ own production, especially fresh meat processed by its own butchers.
“We expect that a large part of orders will mainly include products from our own production, especially high‑quality fresh meat processed by our butchers,” said Globus spokesperson Aneta Turnovská.
The expansion of Globus’ online services primarily responds to customer demand, as more people increasingly choose online grocery shopping with home delivery.

Delivery in two‑hour time slots
Orders from the Globus e‑shop will be delivered in a pre‑selected two‑hour time window according to customer preferences. In the first phase, the service operates in a next‑day delivery mode – orders placed by midnight are delivered the following day.
Within a few weeks, the service will also expand to same‑day delivery. Orders placed by 8:00 a.m. can be delivered as early as the 10:00 a.m. time slot.

DODO as a logistics partner for the entire process
For Globus, DODO is not only responsible for delivery itself, but also for:
- technological route planning
- capacity management
- management of delivery windows
The goal is reliable delivery of groceries, including chilled and frozen products, directly from hypermarkets to customers’ doors.
“Globus places extreme emphasis on quality, freshness and consistent customer service. Our role is to transfer these values into online delivery so that customers know exactly when their purchase will arrive and can rely on it,” says Peter Menky, COO of DODO.
New Toyota ProAce vehicles adapted for the distribution of chilled and frozen groceries will be used for delivery.

Gradual expansion of the service
After launching in Prague, DODO and Globus plan to expand the service to other cities. During spring, delivery should also become available in Ostrava, with further locations to follow.
“We were looking for a partner who approaches online sales systematically and with a long‑term vision. That is why we will develop the cooperation gradually, but with ambitious expansion plans,” adds Peter Menky.
Slot delivery as a growing standard
According to Eurostat data, 21% of the Czech population purchased groceries online in the last three months. Czechs rank among the most active online shoppers in the EU, and grocery delivery within a specific time window is playing an increasingly important role.
DODO has long been observing year‑on‑year growth in grocery delivery of 6–8%, alongside growth in the so‑called slot‑delivery market, which is gradually expanding into other e‑commerce segments.
