GAIA · Our technology backbone

The intelligence behind every delivery decision.

Routing, slotting, dispatching, pricing and communications, all fully automated, in real time. One operational model, one data plane, built by DODO to run DODO.

How it works

A live decision engine, not a dashboard.

Real‑time optimisation of every decision. GAIA continuously re‑evaluates the state of the whole operation and acts the moment reality changes, not on a schedule.

Modules share the same event contracts, so a single deviation can re‑plan a route, re‑price a slot and notify the customer in the same second, with no human stitching them together.

The modules

Six functions, one operating model.

Each module is productised on its own, yet runs on the shared data plane above. What each one does:

Demand forecasting

Demand, ETA and duration prediction for every order, courier and shift.

  • Customer‑specific handover‑duration predictions feed the route plan
  • Long‑term demand forecast sizes the fleet
  • Short‑term forecast drives daily adjustments
  • Continuous tuning from plan‑vs‑reality on historical shifts

Capacity & slot planning

Every cart priced against real cost and real slack, inside the checkout SLA.

  • Per‑customer delivery‑cost estimation
  • Capacity‑aware time windows, priced dynamically in the offer
  • Mixable slots: 15 min / 1 h / 2 h / 4 h, overlapping, not rigid blocks
  • Conditional offers: premium vs. regular, by address or payment
  • Cut‑off time derived from warehouse picking time
70 ms avg response · >99.99% uptime

Route optimisation

Optimisation against the live state of every courier, order and road.

  • Time‑window routing across a heterogeneous fleet
  • Multi‑warehouse pickup, multi‑partner, multi‑tenant constraints
  • Multi‑dimensional capacity: weight, volume, chilled, bulky
  • Live GPS feed: replans against deviations, not assumptions
  • Faster-than-real-time simulation & point‑in‑time decision journal

Dispatch automation

Smart order assignment and auto‑dispatch across the live fleet.

  • Dispatcher console: map, timeline, overview, quick actions
  • Courier app: shifts, tasks, NFC payments, barcode, in‑app comms
  • Order tracking: customisable page, precise ETA, delivery rating
  • Workflow customisation per client and per task

DODO Atlas

Maps, routing, matrix routing and tiles, all owned in‑house, not rented.

  • Geocoding & reverse geocoding, address lookup & autocomplete
  • Traffic‑aware routing and matrix routing (N×M in one call)
  • Vector tiles for fast client‑side rendering
  • Traffic prediction per road segment, every 5 minutes
  • Passthrough to any third‑party provider with automatic failover
99.53% geocoding success · 2B+ matrix elements / mo

Analytics & monitoring

SLAs, alerts, anomalies and performance across the whole network.

  • Business intelligence: custom reports & automated tuning
  • Client portal: B2B reporting, statistics, exports
  • Alerts & anomaly detection across the live operation
  • Point‑in‑time journal to inspect any past decision retrospectively
The pipeline

From forecast to settlement.

GAIA covers the full lifecycle of an urban delivery, from the forecast three weeks out, through the slot inside checkout, to the settlement entry the next morning. Every step sees the same data and reacts in the same loop.

Plan · forecast → routing
01
Demand forecastDemand forecasting

Baseline and short‑term forecasts feed capacity decisions and shift sizing. The forecasts are tracked against reality in a tight loop, so drift shows up in the plan, not the postmortem.

02
Shift planningDemand forecasting

The shift set is computed to match the demand curve while respecting skill, vehicle and contract constraints, with self‑service sign‑up and handovers in the courier app.

03
Capacity & time slotsCapacity & slot planning

Inside checkout, every cart gets capacity‑aware, individually priced time slots (70 ms average, 200 ms worst case), with cut‑off logic driven by warehouse picking time.

04
RoutingRoute optimisation

The order enters the dynamic VRP across heterogeneous fleets, time windows and multi‑warehouse pickup; plan‑vs‑reality is journaled for point‑in‑time inspection.

Run · dispatch → delivery
05
DispatchingDispatch automation

Orders are planned to drivers without manual input; dispatchers monitor exceptions through quick actions. The default state is hands‑off.

06
Telemetry & trackingTelemetry · Dispatch automation

GPS, temperature and g‑sensor data stream back into the loop; the customer follows a customisable tracking page with a precise ETA on live road conditions.

07
Customer commsCustomer notifications · Dispatch automation

Updates go out over SMS, email, WhatsApp or push from one API, with automatic fallback between providers, template management and per‑tenant isolation.

Analyse & learn
08
Analytics & BIAnalytics & monitoring

Every decision lands in the data platform: custom reporting, anomaly detection, point‑in‑time journaling and model tuning, per client rather than per pilot.

Modular by design

Run one module, or compose any number.

GAIA is not a monolith with optional add‑ons. Each module is productised separately and speaks the same event contracts over REST, so you can adopt one, a few, or the whole platform, and add more later without a re‑integration project.
